Brownie Sundaes with Homemade Chocolate Fudge Sauce

It's so fun to make (AND EAT) beautiful, fancy, new desserts, but whenever I have a simple brownie sundae I'm reminded of just how delicious they are. There's a reason the brownie sundae has been around for so long and is a staple dessert at so many restaurants. YUM!

I was at my sister-in-law Kim's house recently and she served the best brownie sundae ever! (Shout out to Kim!!)



Of course you start with a yummy brownie made from your favorite recipe or from your favorite mix.

Cover the brownie with your favorite vanilla ice cream. (I like peppermint or mint chocolate chip ice cream too! The candy cane flavor is perfect at Christmastime.)

Top the ice cream with hot fudge. The following hot fudge recipe is SO good. It has the best flavor. You've got to try it.

Hot Fudge Sauce

2 Cups sugar
1/2 c cocoa
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 can evaporated milk
½ cup butter

In double boiler mix sugar and cocoa. (This step is important. If you don't mix them the hot fudge can be lumpy). Stir for a couple of minutes. Add milk and butter. Stir till melted. Cook on low for a while stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

*Before I had a double boiler I made this in a regular sauce pan. Just keep the heat low.
