What a Week It's Been

Wednesday night at 7:27 PM Elder Dallin Burningham arrived home from the Russian, Novosibirsk mission.
What a blast it is to have him home! He is handsome and funny and what a gentleman!
We had set up a fire pit in the front yard and when we got home it was so fun because people in the neighborhood would drive by, see the fire and stop to say hello.

We had so much fun catching up with Dallin and talking with him about his experiences over the past two years.  We took him shopping for new clothes and shoes. He even went to talk to someone about a job.

Meanwhile…

We waited for Tanner's Mission call.

Wednesday– Nothing.
Thursday – nothing.
Friday – still nothing. It was driving us crazy!  Especially Tanner.
It couldn't come on Saturday right?
Saturday – finally! Tanner's call was here.

We quickly sent out the word to friends and family and at 8:00 PM gathered to watch Tanner open his call letter. Where would Tanner be serving a mission for the next two years?

We hung up a map of the United States and a map of the world and had people guess where they thought Tanner would be serving.

Here is the big moment…

Wow! That was a huge surprise! I would never have guessed that I would be bringing one son home from Russia and getting the call to send another son off to Russia all in the same week!

Tanner will be heading for the missionary training Center in Provo Utah on August 12 where he will begin learning the Russian language.  Dallin served in the Russia, Novosibirsk mission which is in Siberia! Tanner has been called the Russia, Vladivostok mission.  It is still cold, but I don't think it will be as severe as Siberia is.

Dallin will be speaking in church this Sunday and after that I think things will calm down a tiny bit. This is going to be busy, fun summer. Madi and her husband who live in Florida will be moving back to Utah at least through Christmas). It will be the first time our entire family has been together for two years.  I am looking so forward to it!

Come back soon,
